Crane and Forklift Medicals

Who Needs a Crane or Forklift Medical?

Crane drivers operating on a public road need to obtain the Category 1 licence, which required a C1 medical.

There is no legal requirement for forklift or crane drivers on private premises to take a certain medical examination, but the HSE recommends a certificate of fitness to Group 2 standards to demonstrate good health before working at height, at night and with heavy goods. Find the full information on DVLA Group 2 medical standards here.

About the Assessment

Driver medicals take 15-20 minutes including medical history review, blood pressure check and eye test. Find the details of what to bring to your crane or forklift driver medical here.

What’s the Cost?
